Unsolicited Aggravation

It hasn't dampened my spirits as yet but I find it a little annoying that my car has been broken into. I paid for parking at Brooklyn with a R50 note and, as I always do, I left the change (all coins) in the change slot of my car. So naturally, when I checked to see what I'd lost I found the change slot missing. They took the entire thing. They managed to jimmy open my door to do this. They could at least have taken my standard issue, 1981, radio/cassette player and let me claim a new one back on insurance.
Still, I'm very pleased that I still have the rest of the car with all of it's windows intact.

This set me back for the next two weeks on an already tight budget. I would feel better were it not for the multitude of 21st birthday gifts I am in for this year. It stings even more when I consider the new
Apple Mac Mini I've just discovered. I'm going to have to beg, borrow and steal to get a good taste of Mac anytime in the not-so-distant-future.
On the upside we might be getting broadband at the end of the month.
(I'm beginning to get a handle on this 'silver lining' bit).

My cousin went to some trouble to register me, at my request, with an internet hosting service. I was pointed in their direction by Computer Arts Projects magazine in the understanding that their webhosting service was free of charge. On their website it then states that this package is available "from ₤2.49". This turns out to be a per month billing and the "once off payment" is ₤39.99. That's another thing: Everything online goes for 'xx.99' - it must sound cheaper.

I have submitted another
American Fascism t-shirt to the Zazzle gallery. Let's see how long this one lasts. Still no word on the t-shirt I ordered on 2 December 2004.

As an American, I must say I love your critiques of our "great and fearless leader" (a title I use with much sarcasm and distain). At times, I wish I lived anywhere but here, especially when I disagree so heartily with the path our government is taking.

On another, happier note, I wanted to let you know that I blogged about your blog. I've been surfing Blogger for the past few days, hunting out awesome reads and posting about them. Each time, I'll leave a note for the author (like right now) encouraging them to come and take a look. It's so hard to find good material on Blogger unless you have the URL you're looking for. Now, maybe, more of us Bloggers will get to connect and enjoy eachother's work. Hope to see you there! http://get-it-together.blogspot.com

The excess for a new radio (re: insurance) is approximately R1900. You're better off with you vintage music player as is.
