Reality Constructed
I'm coming off of a very good weekend. 1 low-risk poker game lost; several great ideas for images I want to make; 1 upcoming holiday to look forward to and the beginning of an interesting (if sparsely visited) forum. I took such a liking to the topic I set up there that I'm going to post it here too:
There is a definite penetration of American culture carried by television broadcasting - in South Africa at least.
The extent to which this has happened is very difficult to define. From the regression of the English language to colloquial slang and even cultural events/holidays, there seems to be a quasi-subconscious brainwashing projected by American productions.
Reality Television is a perfect example and recent incarnation of this phenomenon. Is the dog wagging the tail or vice versa?
