Emerging Rhetoric

I have been very poor at updating of late. My ADSL was configured today and I'm pleased - despite the 3Gig cap.

I finished registering students at varsity on Wednesday and have finally become one again. It's a great feeling getting back to doing something that I love. We're currently learning to use Freehand MX.

I finally (over a month after the fact) received a reply regarding the reason for my design being removed from the Zazzle gallery. It turns out that it is company policy not to host any images that contain the swastika or references to Hitler or the Nazi party. It reminded me of a post I read at The Lunch Group about censorship. I don't understand how such censoring of free speech could happen. I'll just be the bigger person and accept this stance...
...I won't show the 'offensive' image with their personal watermark etched across it. I am mature and enlightened.

I saw the Penguin books' Great Ideas series in the September issue of Creative Review last year and have been searching for them since. It caught me off-guard to find them available at Exclusive books. George Orwell's "Why I write" was very interesting and Machiavelli's "The Prince" has captured my imagination aswell.

Jess and I just got home from a 21st. It was a fun night. A set of Black Jack tables were standing in the club to promote Jack Daniel's. I walked away with a JD lanyard, a deck of JD cards and 10 JD poker chips.
